Did you want a Benchmade Bedlam for Christmas, but you weren’t good enough all year for Santa to bring you one? Well, be glad, because you don’t have to be that good for Chinese Santa to bring you this Ganzo! The Ganzo G712 is a little smaller than the actual Bedlam, but it is a nice representative of that whole knife neighborhood. 200 Benchmade, you won’t have the same fear working with your Ganzo and its 9 friends that you bought for the same price.
Unless you are a steel snob, you will be happy with the 440C that the Ganzo blade is made from. While it may not roll off the tongue like 154CM, it is more than capable of holding up to the trials of your pocket warrior. It came out of the box shave-ready. The axis lock on the Ganzo is a little tougher to operate because the slide is a little more recessed than on the Benchmade. There is no lanyard hole, though there is a place you can put one on the frame. You will not be disappointed in this knife.
For anybody involved in knife collecting or knives in general immediately understands that the Ganzo G712 folder is a replica or clone of the Benchmade Bedlam 860Bk. I own the Benchmade Bedlam 8600BK, which is the automatic model. 22 there is nothing to complain about. The knife itself is alittle smaller than the Bedlam in blade and handle size, but not by much.
It is sufficient for a pocket flipper intended for everyday use or for self-defense purposes. The knife has an attractive scimitar style blade and overall this knife is functional. The knife’s design allows for a basic thumb flip opening and the axis style locking mechanism is easy to work and appears dependable when it comes to safety. Bottom line, I was pleasantly surprised with this knife. 22 from a lesser known or cheap, knock-off knife maker such as the many Chinese brands is not the case here. 30 Kershaw or Gerber pocket flipper.
